App Store Connect

App Store Connect is Apple’s portal for managing your App Store presence. Here’s how to set up your app listing.

Accessing App Store Connect

  1. Go to appstoreconnect.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple Developer Apple ID
  3. Click “My Apps”

Creating Your App (If Not Done)

If you haven’t created your app yet:

Click the + button

In My Apps, click ”+” then “New App”

Select platform

Choose iOS

Enter app name

This appears on the App Store (can be changed later)

Select primary language

Your main language

Choose Bundle ID

Must match your Nativeline project exactly

Enter SKU

Any unique identifier for your reference (e.g., “myapp001”)

Click Create

Your app is now in App Store Connect

Content Rights

Confirm you have rights to all content in your app:
  • Original content you created
  • Licensed content with proper permissions
  • No copyrighted material without authorization

App Privacy

Apple requires detailed privacy disclosures:

Privacy Policy

Provide URL to your privacy policy. It must:
  • Be accessible to all users
  • Be in the primary language of your app
  • Clearly explain what data you collect

App Privacy Details

Answer questions about data collection:
  1. Contact Info — Name, email, phone, address
  2. Health & Fitness — Health, fitness data
  3. Financial Info — Payment info, credit score
  4. Location — Precise or coarse location
  5. Contacts — Address book
  6. User Content — Photos, videos, files
  7. Browsing History — Web browsing
  8. Search History — In-app searches
  9. Identifiers — User ID, device ID
  10. Usage Data — App analytics
  11. Diagnostics — Crash logs
For each type, specify:
  • Whether it’s linked to user identity
  • Whether it’s used for tracking
If your app only uses standard analytics (like Apple’s), you likely only need to declare “Usage Data” and “Diagnostics” as not linked to identity.

Version Information

What’s New

For updates, describe what changed:
  • Bug fixes
  • New features
  • Improvements
Example:
• Added dark mode support
• Fixed issue with photo saving
• Improved app performance

Description

Up to 4000 characters describing your app: Structure:
  1. Hook (what does it do?)
  2. Key features (bullet points)
  3. Social proof (if any)
  4. Call to action

Up to 100 characters, comma-separated: Tips:
  • No spaces after commas
  • Don’t repeat words from your name
  • Use singular forms
  • Think like a user searching

170 characters that can be changed anytime: Use for:
  • Limited promotions
  • Feature announcements
  • Seasonal messaging

Age Rating

Answer Apple’s questionnaire about content:
  • Violence (cartoon, realistic, etc.)
  • Sexual content
  • Profanity
  • Drug/alcohol references
  • Gambling
  • Horror/fear themes
  • User-generated content
Your answers determine the age rating (4+, 9+, 12+, 17+).
Be honest. If your rating doesn’t match your content, Apple will reject your app.

App Clips (Optional)

If your app has App Clips:
  • Upload the App Clip binary
  • Provide metadata for the clip
  • Set up the App Clip experience

Submission Checklist

Before submitting, verify:
  • App name finalized
  • Description is compelling and accurate
  • Keywords optimized (100 chars)
  • Screenshots uploaded for all sizes
  • Age rating questionnaire completed
  • Privacy policy URL works
  • Support URL works
  • Content rights confirmed
  • Privacy details completed
  • Build uploaded and selected

You can save incomplete listings and return later:
  • Click “Save” at top right
  • Come back anytime to continue

Ready to Submit

When everything is complete:
  • All required fields filled
  • Build uploaded and processed
  • Ready to send for review
